Water Saving
All Quebicle Themed Schools Washrooms and Shower rooms have water efficiency as a central design principle. Through the use of water saving devices and grey water recycling systems we can dramatically reduce the amount of water your school uses. As a scarce and expensive resource in the UK, the conservation of water should be a key component of a school’s environmental and fiscal policies.
We concentrate on three key objectives as part of our water saving design process:
Eliminate unnecessary waste
Taps which are left on when not in use represent the most obvious source of unnecessary waste water. This can be combated through the installation of either non- concussive, touch sensitive or infra red taps offering water savings of between 50 and 65% per annum over conventional taps as they automatically shut off when not in use. This equates to saving between 2 and 2.8 litres per minute for every forgetful pair of hands!
Coupled to our stringent design and installation processes, which minimise the risk of accidental leakage, Quebicle aim to totally eliminate the unnecessary waste of water in school washrooms and shower rooms.
Reduce necessary usage
In order to reduce the amount of water needed for washing and toilet hygiene, Quebicle again looks to its design and product selection to achieve our objective
Given the fact that conventional flush toilets are responsible for up to 33% of school water use, we offer a range of WC’s which save between 25% and 33% water when compared to conventional cisterns.
Our urinal systems include the Waterless Urinal, which uses a chemical cartridge to break down urine rather than a water flush, or infra red activated urinals, which use up to 70% less water than an uncontrolled cistern.
Water displacement devices and water saving siphons retro fitted to existing facilities offer further opportunities to be more water efficient.
Quebicle are continuously reviewing new products and technologies as we seek new ways to reduce the necessary use of water in the school washroom.
Recycle Water Where Possible
Quebicle’s Grey Water Recycling System collects waste water from washbasins and showers, which is then pumped into a concealed toilet cistern where it is treated and re-used to flush toilets. Radically reducing water consumption by as much as 30%, this represents a real commitment to water conservation whilst still maintaining focus on the health and wellbeing of you pupils.
